The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued a warning on its website that the agency recently discovered counterfeit drugs that mimicked the diet pills Alli, suggesting that consumers who suspected they bought fake drugs would stop using the drug.
The US Food and Drug Administration says the fake Alai packaging is a 120-bottle 60-mg capsule. Alai is an over-the-counter weight-loss drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. The main active ingredient is orlistat. The fake drug found this time does not contain orlistat but contains sibutramine. Sibutramine is an active ingredient in another prescription class of weight loss drugs approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. The use of this drug requires the diagnosis and supervision of a professional physician and cannot be sold as an over-the-counter drug.
Alai is produced by the British company GlaxoSmithKline. The US Food and Drug Administration said that the counterfeit drugs currently found in the United States are sold online, but the possibility of the drug being sold through other means cannot be ruled out.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration, it has been determined that the dose of sibutramine taken by a person taking the drug is three times the normal dose. Users may experience adverse reactions such as anxiety, nausea, arrhythmia, insomnia, and even elevated blood pressure. People with a history of cardiovascular disease have a risk of recurrence of stroke and heart disease.
According to a survey by the reporter, the drug did not enter the regular pharmacies in China, but some online shopping sites did have sales. Meditech Medical Network
