The Causes and Prevention of Cotton Ringing after Rain

<

The recent continuous rainy weather in Hebei Province caused water to accumulate in most cotton fields, resulting in serious occurrence of cotton ringing and affecting the yield and quality of cotton. Why did it batter? The main reason for rotten bells is that temperature and humidity should not be caused. The rainfall from August to September is the key factor determining the severity of rotten bells. The long rain and high humidity in the bell period are serious, and the bad bells are serious. After a long period of rain, a sudden low temperature not only creates the conditions for the invasion of the bacteria due to the increase in humidity, but also reduces the cotton resistance at low temperatures, and it is easier to get rid of the bell. In addition, it is closely related to the density, too much peach and so on. How to prevent it?

One is that early maturing varieties should be sown late and control too many prunes. Too many peaches are very easy to get rid of the bell, even if not bad, but also due to lack of light close to the ground, hot water vapor transpiration and bolling is not good, the formation of poor quality "root flowers", "flowers with a stale valve." Generally, in the cotton field with too many pre-floss peaches, the abscission rate of the budding bells in the middle of the cotton plant is high, and it is easy to form a lot of bad bells in the lower part, less peaches in the middle part, and more peaches in the upper part of late autumn. There are not many good cotton products, and a lot of secondary cotton.

The second is appropriate sparse planting to reduce the hidden environment between the rows and improve the ventilation and light transmission capacity of the lower part of the cotton plant.

The third is to remove early flowers or early morning bells or remove the two fruit branches from the lower part of the cotton plant in the early-to-ear cotton fields in early and late June or in early July.

The fourth is moderate control. It is necessary to prevent prosperous growth, and it is impossible to control it too much, otherwise it will easily cause overlapping of blades and affect ventilation.

There are other ways to prevent and treat bad bells, such as pushing and cultivating ridges, hitting the old leaves, spraying fungicide, and picking up the rotten bells to dry at the beginning. However, these methods are in the cotton field, impending rotten bells or rotten bells have already occurred. The passive approach taken at the time is often less than ideal. Appropriate sparse planting, timely control, and no or less bells are the most active and simple ways to prevent bad bells.
